I totally forgot to publish last month's Style Icon post. Tut-tut.

Let's just get right into it. This month it's stylist and fashion editor, JSJ. Julia's hair was the latest inspiration behind my desire to retry the transitioning thing again last summer. But after taking my braids out over the Christmas break, I decided against it. I'll write a post similar to my rather embarrassing fitness story about my hair a little later, if you guys want.

Julia's seventies-inspired sporty/hippie style, as seen at Fashion Weeks and on street style blogs the world over, has seriously helped shape my spring-summer wardrobe this year. Her excellent taste in sweatshirts and fancy footwear makes us a match made in closet heaven. I need those Alaïa boots (similar here) in my life. And I just adore her penchant for quirky accessories, and mixing high street with high end. Topshop and Prada (see the look in Vogue's TIW here), class act!

Lessons Learnt

Elton John-style sunglasses can be cool.

Sweatshirts, sweatshirts and more sweatshirts.

A splash of colour and accented accessories can make all the difference.

It helps keep you sane all day. The least you could do is dress your phone up.

Layer up and mix those textures, dahling.

Channeling Julia on Polyvore

Haven't used Polyvore in a while so here's a new one.
