NEW MUSIC: Wande Coal - Baby Hello

Here's the latest Wande Coal and Maleek Berry collaboration.

It's come at such a good time personally because for a while now, I've been pondering when exactly the masses made the smooth transition from relishing Makossa, soukous and such to getting turnt up with Afrobeats. I remember the days I could not escape Magic System's Premier Gaou at just about every social gathering back in Nigeria. I still jam to Koffi Olomide every now and then (Loi = eternal jam), but let's be honest, a party isn't a party without some Wizkid or D'Banj (somebody tell the DJs over here though).

But in Baby Hello, Wande gives us a solid Awilo throwback over Maleek Berry's 'polished makossa' bass and synths whilst still staying true to the commercial Afrobeats. It does sound more like a Wizkid track than a Wande one, but no one can hate on a man for trying to experiment with his sound. The uptempo dance track is incredibly catchy, a valuable addition to any DJ's rave/party playlist.

Check out Baby Hello via Sound Cloud below and let me know what you think.
