MUSIC: Solange X Saint Records

Solange, my favourite Knowles sister is probably the coolest person in the world... right after me, of course. She would easily make it onto my list of the top 20 people I would like to meet before I die. From her music to her personal style, the woman is a visionary; the unofficial ambassador of America's 'cultural underground.'

The latest piece of genius from the singer/DJ/Mum is Saint Heron, a compilation of twelve tracks from some of her favourite R'n'B artistes including a few rising stars. Saint Heron serves as the first release from her record label, Saint Records. As well as herself, the compilation also features undeniable talent from the likes of Jhené Aiko, Sampha, Iman Omari and BC Kingdom. Solange oversaw the project from start to finish, and plans to make Saint Heron an annual compilation of new material from chosen artistes under her supervision.

The first single from the album is Los Angeles-native, Kelela's breezy track, Go All Night produced by Morri$, which you can listen to below (or on SoundCloud here).

Saint Heron is due to drop on the 12th of November. In the mean-time, you can all feast your eyes and ears on the creative, cultural hub that is Saint Heron's official website which features interviews with some of the artistes as well as some new music.
