LISTEN: 'N SYNC - Bye Bye Bye

'N SYNC - Bye Bye Bye from The Essential 'N SYNC | Ses Rêveries

If you did not see this post coming, then you must not have known about 'N SYNC pulling a major Beyoncé yesterday... Don't sweat it though, neither did 'N SYNC.

The Essential 'N SYNC album has caused all kinds of nostalgia here at HQ. The Phantom Menace (only just), Deep Space Nine, Voyager and most of the Star Trek: TNG-based films, Braveheart (och, I cannae remember a film in which I liked Mel Gibson more), Jurassic Park, MiB, The MatrixArmageddon, Pretty WomanBeverly Hills 90210Baywatch, Charmed (we luh you, Paige, but Prue was bae; her death still hurts to this day... that rhymed), Saved By The Bell (technically, not a product of the 90's but come on), PlayStation (duh), Gameboy (in Europe - chill, all ye pedants), the floppy disc (still got a bunch at home), Windows 95 (really want this interface back actually; playing around with MS-DOS made me feel like such a "computer hacker"), MESUR Pathfinder, GPS reaching FOC, the Fresh Prince, That 70's Show, Green Day (Tré Cool officially joined in 1990 so it's fair play), the Tommy Hilfiger craze (confessoin: I really wanted that Aaliyah bandeau), Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Lil' Kim, DMX, Eve, Ashanti, Britney Spears ("it's Britney, b***h"), Christina Aguilera, Shania Twain, Alicia KeysTimbaland, Ginuwine, Static Major, Cash Money, 50 Cent, Eminem, Irv Gotti, PharrellSnoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Lil' Bow Wow, Fugees, the Wu-Tang Clan, Spice Girls (still can't decide between Posh and Ginger), B*Witched (c'est la vie / c'est la viiiieee), the Backstreet Boys (#TeamNSYNC, sorry not sorry), Westlife... actually, no, let's never speak of Westlife. Ever.

Anyway, before I get carried away (or is it too late for that?), let's thank the 'N SYNC boys for this great gift they unknowingly bestowed upon us - or more specifically, upon those click-happy people who scooped up every single copy of the 'greatest hits' album on Amazon before the rest of us even caught on (vultures).

I decided to pick one of my early Noughties (2000's) favourites of 'N SYNC's, Bye Bye Bye, for this week's LISTEN post as I couldn't wait for Throwback Thursday to share some of their Nineties hits. And you know it's deep when two "byes" aren't enough.

I embedded the video because it is a must-watch for many reasons: the flawless VFX, the crazy-cool gravity-defying choreography, the typical 'nineties group' poses (see here); those trousers, Justin's 'fro... it's videos like this that make me not feel so bad about my own throwback pictures and videos; at least mine don't have over 45 million views on YouTube.

Check out Bye Bye Bye via YouTube and let me know what you think.
