Favourites: Delpozo Fall 2015

Speechless, speechless (everybody now!) that's how you make me feel...

I seem to have changed my tune from last year's androgyny crusade, even though that will forever remain my closet's true north. A good flippy skirt appears to be doing just as much for me as a tailored pinstripe blazer (hey, Theallet!).

But the real game changer came from the mind of Madrid-based creative director (and LOML) Josep Font. In a sentiment I would quite fittingly verbalize as "I see your seventies and I raise you dreamy feminine wonderland", Font offers fantastical couture-style magic in Delpozo's Fall 2015 RTW collection that appealed to my inner Alice with insouciant charm.

Following the success of their SS15 show, Delpozo's plans for fall domination came in the form of revamped bunny ears that would make the White Rabbit green with envy, impeccable craftsmanship and tailoring, three-dimensional architectural silhouettes, and updated "no make-up" make-up with colourful inner eye creases la Frédérique Tietcheu; all delivered with Wonderland's playful decorum.

There were the usual culprits when it came to my heart palpitations: tailored co-ords and overcoats, the Annie Hall pants of my Diane Keaton-inspired dreams, luxurious capes (some of course featuring those darned slit sleeves - so fetch)... But even the velvet turtlenecks and trousers, neon yellow punctuation, floral panelling and shaggy knits (take notes, trend-hunters, we have another winner) got my motor running. Not to be outdone was the modern take on mod dresses featuring intricate floral detailing to keep the spring bloom alive and well all the way through the fall, with the occasional jacquard, floral print and organza adding that Valentino haute couture finish.

Each piece was a carefully crafted triumph.
